I met with Lauren and Jonathan on a gorgeous afternoon in Waimea for their engagement session. It was a nice break from shooting at the beach and it was the perfect session to shoot at the location in Waimea that I have had in my head for over a year! I just had never had a family and weather conditions that made it work. We walked and explored a few different spots around town including the ever-popular Mud Lane on the wet side of town 🙂

Romantic Waimea Engagement Session

Shooting any session right in your own backyard feels so surreal. I don’t need to drive to the beach. Some days it is a score! I love exploring new places and getting to photograph as a completely new backdrop is a great challenge. I was exploring the town a few months ago when I stumbled upon Mud Lane. It is a popular place to walk/bike and I have always wanted to photograph someone here because of how stunning the road is. Lined with tall trees that seem to go on forever was perfection! We ended the session at the open fields right in town, just in time for the sunset.
